Looney Mack, a rapper who has been influenced by Digital Underground, E 40, Too Short, T Pain, and Future, has a new track called “Pouring up Like Ireland.” The song was recorded in Las Vegas and produced by De La Music. Looney Mack’s actual cousins are featured in the song, and they all enjoy a few drinks together whenever they meet. The song is all about authenticity and being themselves. Looney Mack The Irishman has a reputation for always having a drink on hand, making this track feel like the perfect first release for the project.
“Pouring up Like Ireland” is a straight-up party track that brings out Looney Mack and guests Hossay Cabbage, Paris, Khalil Mack, and Mad Mack’s inner Irishmen to live it up. The record is a mellow mid-tempo feel-good house party jam that has an R&B sensibility to the instrumental. One remarkable line from the song is “I quit drinking yesterday, but tonight I celebrate my comeback!”
The track has a 90s slippery bass lead reminiscent of older TLC productions with the classic 80s cowbell hit to imbue the track with some pleasant retro. Layered on top are, of course, a sampler of guest artists who all bring a unique flow while gelling together as a cohesive whole for the track, easily handing off the baton between each other. In the end, it sounds like a DJ Khalid production. We were almost expecting to hear “another one!” and this lyric too “We go all night, then it’s bye bitch.”
Looney Mack’s upcoming performances and shows are something to look forward to. “Pouring up Like Ireland” is a fun track that will get you in the mood to party.
