Tom Minor, not his first appearance on this site—and certainly not his last, steps in with his latest drop, “Change It!”, he isn’t just visiting the charts—he’s demanding a revolution of the self. This arrived with precision on Boxing Day, is another bold notch in the belt of a songwriter who’s been steadily carving his own lane across the indie-rock spectrum.

Produced by the legendary Teaboy Palmer (The Basher of Belsize Park) and featuring the jagged, electric precision of guitarist Johnny Dalston, “Change It!” is a masterclass in genre-bending.

Rooted in a British-based soul-rock sensibility, “Change It!” fuses Britpop swagger, classic and garage rock grit, glam flash, power-pop melody, and new wave melancholy—think The Smiths’ introspection colliding with the punch of The Beatles and the sunlit hooks of the Beach Boys.

Serving as the opening salvo for his upcoming sophomore album, Ten New Toe-Tappers for Shoplifting & Self-Mutilation (due early 2026), and following last year’s “Future Is an F Word,” “Change It!” throws the gates wide open. The gloves are off. The hope is slim but stubborn.

On the lyrics, Minor keeps it raw and repetitive in the best way—like a mantra shouted into the mirror before stepping out into the world. “I’m gonna change it / I’m gonna change it, ok? / I wanna change it / I’m gonna change it today” becomes both confession and command. The repetition mirrors the daily mental tug-of-war between doubt and resolve, especially when he admits, “I get confused every day.”

Yet this is not a song that folds inward. It’s a rebel yell for the restless, for anyone staring down FOMO, unrealized potential, or a future that feels just out of reach.

There’s more to come from Tom Minor and we urge everyone to stick close by following the artist his social media and other pages.
