Guy Horne, the emerging singer/songwriter on his path to making waves in the music industry, has released his latest pop-rock single ‘WAITING ON YOU’. The unique blend of soulful pop and heartfelt lyrics captivates listeners with Guy’s enchanting voice and raw emotion. His music embodies themes of love, self-discovery and personal growth through introspective songwriting, resonating with listeners on a deeper level.
Guy returns with his new single after his debut ‘Morning Light’ received support and saw him performing live on BBC Radio. The new track was produced and mixed by Ed Graves and 2023 Grammy Award winner Oli Jacobs (Harry’s House).
‘WAITING ON YOU’ is a feel good summer song with dreamy guitars, live hand drums and a combination of Guy’s raspy, raw vocals and blues progressions. His previous single was featured extensively including YouTube tastemaker, MrRevillz – who boasts over 3.2M subscribers.
In Guy’s own words, the new release resembles a British love child of Khruangbin, Jack Johnson and John Mayer. He continues, “the song is about getting on with things in your life rather than waiting for life to happen to you. I was frustrated and felt helpless so I picked up the guitar whilst sitting on the end of my couch and the song came out of me within 10 minutes.” Inspired by a quote from the movie, Green Book: ‘I wouldn’t wait. The world is full of lonely people waiting to make the first move.’
Born and raised in Manchester, Guy first discovered his love for music and guitar aged 12, influenced by local legends like The Stone Roses & Oasis, “The inspiration I absorbed from the pioneering scene coming out of Manchester was a motivating factor for me to become a musician.”
As a self-taught musician and songwriter, Guy has an innate ability to blend genres and experiment with different sounds he’s influenced by in a fresh and modern way. Guy has performed at UK festivals including Medicine & the Wonderment Festival. He is set to unleash his debut EP in 2023 with collaborations and co-productions from Billboard charted and multi-platinum award winning producers. Guy, already known for his successes in the property world having been awarded Young Property Personality of the Year in 2021, has invested over £600m into social housing projects, creating positive outcomes for almost 10,000 vulnerable members of our society.
