Timed to coincide with Audio Bicycle Day (ABD) on April 19, the single will be launched via Music Factory Records. Ari Johua from The Suncatchers unveiled this inaugural single, “Audio Bicycle Day,” on 29th March. This release offers both a radio edit (currently out) and a full version (on 4/19/2024 ), allowing listeners to explore every nuance of this musical composition. The latter version delves into intricate solo moments, enriching the overall experience.

The Suncatchers Version from Music Factory Records features Ari Joshua on guitar, accompanied by Joe Doria on organ and the mesmerizing psychedelic strings. Meanwhile, Brad Gibson infuses the track with his dynamic energy on the drums.

On this Single, we interviewed Ari Joshua from The Suncatchers:

Let’s start with what fuels your creativity. What motivates you to create music?

Evolution. Whatever put us here, and kept evolving for some billions of years to create all this, whatever that source is, whatever that is it’s just too strong inside me. I’m strapped in for the ride, and music is my way of making it all makes sense.

Can you walk us through your creative process?

I set up a studio session, and I write for the players on the sessions. I listen to the material they have and get immersed in it and then I just turn the faucet on. I used to just write more for myself, I have a surplus of creativity, old demos, and song notes.

How do you know when a piece is finished and ready to share with the world?

It takes a lot to be honest. I know a song is ready when I have emptied my bank account, or budget a few times, and eventually you listen to it and just go, ok, that’s ready. Time for art. Put it out. After working with Medeski, and Martin, I am more open now to putting some raw material out there too. It’s ok to share it all.

How do you typically describe the music you create?

I don’t feel that descriptive writing is my zone of genius. It’s been great to get some press recently and check out what people are writing. I would just describe it as genuine, and full of passion, and vulnerability.

Do you have any rituals or routines to manage performance anxiety before a show?

I like to rest on a show day. Sleep in. Take a nap if needed, and try to get as much work done the week or days before so I can be clear, and not think too much.

Speaking of shows, are you planning any upcoming tours or performances that fans can look forward to?

We just started working with Loose Leaf booking, stay tuned, there will be some announcements soon. Meanwhile I play around my house a few times a week when I am around.

Collaborations can be inspiring! If you could pick any artist to open for, who would it be and why?

When I was a kid it was one of the PNW rock bands. As a teen I shifted to any of the jambands, in college it was MMW, or any jazz oriented bands. I am all over the map with what I love. I love it all.

Have you had the opportunity to collaborate with any artists you admire on recent projects?

Yes big time. Check out all the latest at www.arijoshua.com.

John Medeski, Billy Martin, Skerik, Delvon Lamarr, Grant Schroff, Joe Doria, Brad Gibson, Roman Angelos*(octet), Peter Daniel*(quartet), Swampdweller*John Kimock, Andy Hess, Eden Ladin, RAAR Trio, Russ Lawton, Ray Paczkowski, Space Owl, and through the label also Marina Albero, Heather Thomas, Marina Christopher and more!

If so, what was that experience like?

Very grateful. I could start answering that question and never stop. That would be for the podcast interview, lol. So many stories and lessons learned.

As a successful musician, what’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received that you’d like to share with aspiring artists?

Hang in there. Listen to what people are saying, but never ever let what they say interfere with what you know you are capable of. Keep dreaming, but don’t get lost in your day dreams. Put the rubber on the road, and point to the direction you wanna be in, and just travel one day at a time.

Do you have any hobbies or interests that inspire you outside of the music world?

I love my partner, my family, the people that accept me for who I am. It inspires me to know these people are still here with me, and to know none of us are alone, cause I love them and I get the feeling it goes both ways.
I am also really focused on education. My school The Music Factory and my label Music Factory Records keep me busy. My partner has a 5 year old, and that has turned out to be one of my favorite parts of life these days.
