Though she only started sharing her vocal talents with the world last year, Gia has been honing her skills in music since her youth. Most importantly, Gia creates music that authentically reflects who she is in the present moment.

She kicks things off with “NDA,” a sultry, beat-heavy track perfect for setting the mood. The lyrics tell a cryptic tale of a secret love affair, with Gia teasing listeners about a tryst she “can’t disclose.” This sexy opener nicely introduces the EP’s overarching theme of romance.

The energy shifts with “Detachment,” a soulful ballad about withdrawing affection after not having one’s love reciprocated. Gia’s vocals shine here as she belts out lyrics about retracting the energy she gives to someone who fails to return that same level of care and devotion. This track shows her versatility as she switches from the sensual to the emotional.

Gia then takes yet another turn with “Bad Influence” – an upbeat, pop and R&B-infused tune about a relationship one knows is toxic yet irresistibly consumes them anyway. Sassy lyrics celebrate these “bad influences” that feel so good, even when you know they’re no good for you.

Love, Valentine: An Artistic Vision

Across three stylistically distinct yet thematically cohesive tracks, Gia Valentine showcases both her talent and creative vision. Her sultry vocals and vulnerable songwriting draw listeners in, while skilled production and diverse musical influences keep things interesting. As Gia notes, she can “feel the shift of greatness” within herself as an artist. Judging by the artistic growth displayed on “Love, Valentine,” it seems her intuitions are correct. This is an EP that marks the rise of an exceptionally promising new voice in R&B.
