The album’s second single, “The Hole,” is quite different from the first, “Tell Me Again,” adopting a more conventional “rock” sound while maintaining a strong emphasis on catchy, earworm melodies and deep, meaningful lyrics. “Hole in the Wall,” The song explores our attempts to fill existential gaps as it delves into the human condition, with inspiration drawn from Sarah Polley’s film Take This Waltz.

The lyrics speak to addiction, existential phobias, and the difficulty in finding purpose in life.

Warming guitar distortion and Marky’s lyrics, “Pour it all in if it fills a hole,” build a catchy alt-rock drive. The softer guitar tones perfectly complement the explosive energy, highlighting Marky’s excellent production and songwriting. Listeners are taken on a reflective tour as the composition intensifies—a groovy indie rock jam that makes an impression.
