Irish musical duo Irene Ní Chuinn & Martin Quinn, collectively known as One Flew Over, introduces their 4th single, “Not Good For Me,” following their prior releases “Liar Liar,” “Rise,” and “Maybe In Another Lifetime.” Recorded at JAM Studios in Kells, Co. Meath, and produced by Martin Quinn, the duo showcases their musical prowess through this latest offering.
The soulful resonance of Irene Ní Chuinn’s vocals serves as the driving force behind “Not Good For Me.” Her voice embodies a compelling amalgamation of strength, depth, and a tantalizing resilience that captivates from the song’s onset. With a sassy lyricism and a groovy, soulful delivery, her performance emanates empowerment and allure, encapsulating a 3-minute and 54-second anthem that spans soul, blues, indie rock, and an irresistible catchiness.
Launching with an ethereal introduction swiftly overtaken by a dominant guitar presence, the song establishes its groove, providing a solid foundation for Ní Chuinn’s potent vocals to enter, declaring, “Don’t lock me in, your prison bars can’t hold me.”
“Not Good For Me” amalgamates vintage R&B elements with a fusion of Rock, Pop, and Soul, delving into the inner turmoil of being magnetically drawn to someone who both invigorates and inflicts pain—an individual whose allure is as compelling as their destructive influence.
The sonic richness of this track owes much to the collaborative efforts of the band, including Andrew Quinn on drums, Martin Quinn on bass, guitars, piano, keys, and backing vocals, David Doyle on cello, James Quinn on additional keyboards, and Irene Ní Chuinn lending her talents to lead and backing vocals.
Looking forward, One Flew Over hints at forthcoming projects slated for 2024, promising an array of power-packed singles among other musical endeavors. Fans can stay updated by following their social media handles for the latest information and regular updates.
