Emerging from Chicago and currently making waves in Portland, Koalra, an up-and-coming indie rock band, presents their latest single, “Undertow,” a 2-minute 46-second track that condenses elements of ’90s rock and indie music, offering an edgy musical experience.

Their musical journey began with their self-titled album released in December 2019, a collection of eight tracks brimming with uplifting yet thrashing guitar melodies, echoing influences from the ’90s. Transitioning into 2020, Koalra delved deeper into introspective themes with their EP “Surprise Lights,” driven by the growing uncertainty of the times.

“Undertow” captivates with its dynamic progression, shifting from clashing drums to gritty, fast-paced electric guitar strums, evoking a sense of chaos and uncertainty akin to a calm ocean succumbing to the winds of turmoil.
