19 year old Suffolk, UK Folk-Pop-Rock singer/songwriter Iona Griffey has released her long awaited debut album Lovers &Strangers 19th August 2023.
The album follows the successful release of the singles ‘Colourblind’, ‘Sweet Tooth’ and ‘Candy’ which have been played on BBC Radio and on leading playlists and stations worldwide. Earlier this year she had a live acoustic session on BBC Radio.
The forty minutes and five seconds long album, “Lovers & Strangers” is composed of twelve exquisite melodies. It includes
- Colourblind,
- Better
- Hero
- Devil In Me
- Candy,
- Princess
- Shirtless
- One More Time
- Plan B
- Sweet Tooth
- High Hopes and
- Scarlet Woman
Despite being only 19 Iona has had great success playing live from pubs to larger venues, charity gigs to festivals, developing her honest and introspective songwriting and strong female vocals. Stylistically, Iona has been described as a unique blend of Pop-Rock, R&B and Folk and is now breaking into the contemporary music scene.
A refreshing change from modern electronic pop music, Iona is something of a rarity, having a solid instrument driven sound. Her music features a rich blend of rock and acoustic guitar and an imposing female vocal. Real music played with real instruments.
