In Ways of the Dreamer, Portuguese-based artist Lena Younes turns her personal story into soul-stirring songs. It took six years to shape, and it all began after a powerful breathwork session that helped Lena reconnect with her voice after years of silence.

The album was recorded entirely remotely. Lena sang her vocals from the setting of her father’s wardrobe in Portugal, while producer Sebastian Brice crafted the arrangements from his studio in Frome, UK.

At the heart of the album lies “Presence,” a deeply moving tribute to Lena’s late mother. Written just a month after her mother’s funeral, it carries the weight of grief but also the softness of memory. Another standout, “Pray,” arrives like a moment of stillness. Its simplicity and open space allow each lyric to land softly. Lena’s voice feels grounded, singing not just words, but feelings. Here, home is not a place—it’s a sense of belonging, of returning to one’s breath.

The title track, “Ways of the Dreamer,” paints motherhood through the eyes of wonder. Inspired by her daughter, it captures the fragile beauty of new life. Later in the album, “Human” opens up about vulnerability. In this track, Lena acknowledges the weight of being alive—of feeling everything so deeply. It’s not dramatic, but it’s honest. Her delivery is soft, almost like she’s sharing a secret.

The closing song, “My Daughter,” co-written with her father, adds a touching layer of legacy. It’s rare to hear three generations held in one track. This moment feels like a gentle hug between the past and future, echoing with love passed down through music.

Sebastian Brice’s production stays respectfully in the background. It gives space for Lena’s voice, never distracting from her words. Subtle guitar lines, ambient pads, and soft piano work create a dreamlike atmosphere—one that invites quiet reflection.
