This EP takes their unique blend of pop vocals and powerful metal music to a whole new level. Its is initially intriguing by how Alice Hartvig, who had never done metal music before, became the perfect fit for Johan Karlsson’s vision. After a quick discussion and demo recording, the birth of We Are To Blame was inevitable.
Teaming up with guitarist Urban Granbacke, they embarked on a musical journey, crafting the band’s story. Their ability to marry pop vocals with the raw intensity of metal brings a fresh perspective to the genre. The strong lyrical themes in ‘Duality II’ come straight from the heart, aiming to move listeners on a deep emotional level.
From the great delivery on ‘Duality I,’ We Are To Blame have managed to replicate and increased the high proficiency and quality of their rock music game. Drawing influences from power metal, melodic death metal, and progressive metal, they create a sound that is truly unique and captivating.
What to find particularly impressive is how Alice’s vocals, combined with the symphonic and Rock, punk elements, give each song its own distinct identity. From the anthemic choruses to the intricate guitar work, heavy metal, every element of the EP is meticulously crafted.
‘Duality II’ is a testament to the band’s growth and evolution since their first album. They have managed to maintain the high standard they set and even surpass it with this release. The EP consists of six powerful songs, with a total runtime of 35 minutes and 29 seconds.
You can find all the tracks on various streaming platforms, and I highly recommend giving it a listen.
