Luma Fade unveils their inaugural musical offering, “Lunar Decay,” a masterful solo project by Benjamin Forrest Dalton that emerged on December 22, 2023. Dalton’s musical roots span a wide spectrum, traversing from the post-punk allure of Echo and the Bunnymen, The Cure, Joy Division, Susie and the Banshees to a later exploration of artists like The Sundays, Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star, the Ocean Blue, Blur, Ride, Jesus and Mary Chain, and R.E.M., eventually delving into the realm of synth-based bands such as Depeche Mode, New Order, and Pet Shop Boys.
Within the album compilation, Dalton grapples with a recurring sentiment that his compositions lack an assertive edge, often leading him to reimagine and reconstruct them—a process reminiscent of the legendary MJ’s studio sessions. Injecting vitality into his tracks, he endeavors to infuse them with dynamic elements or add disruptive interludes.
This conceptual opus, conceived amidst the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, centers on the thematic axis of the ‘End Of The World,’ exploring its diverse manifestations across generations. It delves into the adaptability of humanity during such cataclysmic epochs, portraying the varied outcomes where survival isn’t universal.
Consisting of nine tracks, spanning a succinct duration of thirty-nine minutes and eighteen seconds, “Lunar Decay” offers more than just captivating melodies and compositions.
