Yonti Ma Way Deep
Way Deep is one of 11 tracks on Yonti Ma’s newest album TWILIGHT, a poetic exploration of the complex emotional dimensions of climate crisis. This track directs the listener to inner resources, “the magic stone inside”, against which the ills of the world can be polished.
‘Way Deep’ and indeed all the songs on TWILIGHT feature Yonti’s beautiful voice and vocal harmonies woven around strands of her wooden flute, piano, and guitar playing. The tasty contributions of collaborators on bass, cello, violin, banjo, and beat boxing round out the sound on some tracks. From this palette she has created songs that range from simple singer-songwriter style to a near cinematic spaciousness.
Yonti Ma, an immersive artist, musician, and composer, creates impressive work across various mediums, including sculpture, collage, poetry, film, dance, and music. Incorporating her background in academic philosophy, Yonti’s self-taught multi-instrumentalism shines through in her standout medium of music, with nine self-produced albums in her discography.
She manages to produce prolifically as a recording artist despite disabilities that make performing and touring a challenge. Yonti’s discography is influenced by a wide variety of musical traditions, including European folk & classical, American jazz, and Indian, Arabic & Turkish classical music.

OMG! This song has been on repeat! I’ve learned it word for word! I deeply appreicate Yonti’s soulfulness, rhythm and deep poetic words. Highly recommend.
Way Deep!…….An instantly engaging song with beautiful instrumentals, verses, chorus, and vocal performance. Listeners will find that the imperfections in the vocal layering contribute to the song its own irreplicable character, and add to the listening experience, rather than detract from it.
